Cookie policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
This policy details the cookies and trackers set by Implikare when you use the implikare.com service. It complements the Privacy Policy and applies to all users, whether logged in or not.
1. What is a cookie
In one sentence
A cookie is a small file placed by a website on your device (computer, mobile, tablet) that lets it remember information between two visits — for example your login session or your choice on the cookie banner. The same definition extends to similar technologies like LocalStorage, which we use instead of a cookie to remember consent.
2. Cookies used by Implikare
Summary table
| Name | Type | Purpose | Legal basis | Duration | Issuer |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
refresh_token | HTTP cookie (httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict) | Authentication (keep your session logged in) | Contract performance — strictly necessary cookie, exempt from consent | 30 days | Implikare |
consent | LocalStorage | Remember your choice on the cookie banner (“accept” or “decline”) | Legitimate interest — not re-prompting you every visit | 12 months | Implikare |
ph_*, __ph_opt_in_out_* | HTTP cookies + LocalStorage | Product analytics: pages visited, interactions, conversions — and session replay. Your CVs, cover letters, profile and email address are never recorded in sessions. | Consent — disabled by default until you accept | 12 months | PostHog (EU Cloud) |
__gads, __gpi, IDE, NID, other Google trackers | HTTP cookies (1P and 3P) | Display advertising via Google AdSense on public pages, measure impressions and clicks; personalized targeting if you have consented, contextual otherwise | Consent — disabled by default, triggered only after acceptance | Up to 13 months | Google LLC |
We use no third-party social network cookies and no retargeting cookies outside the providers described above (PostHog for product analytics, Google AdSense for advertising).
3. Consent and cookie banner
How consent works
In line with CNIL guidelines:
- Analytics cookies (PostHog) and advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are disabled by default until you make a choice.
- On your first visit, a banner gives you two options of equal visual weight: Accept or Decline.
- Your choice is stored for 12 months in LocalStorage (key
consent), to avoid prompting you again on every visit. - Declining has no impact on your access to the service or its features. If you decline, Google AdSense may still display non-personalized ads, based only on the page context.
Consent management
Consent is collected via Implikare's own cookie banner. Your choice is stored in LocalStorage (key consent) and passed to the relevant providers (PostHog, Google AdSense) only after explicit acceptance. No third-party CMP or standardized advertising framework (IAB TCF) is used.
4. Change or withdraw your consent
How to change your mind
You can withdraw or change your choice at any time. Two methods:
- Quick method— clear your browser's LocalStorage for implikare.com: the banner will reappear on your next visit and you can make a new choice. On Chrome and Firefox:
F12→ Application tab (Chrome) or Storage (Firefox) → LocalStorage → delete theconsentkey. - Global method— use your browser's privacy settings to block cookies from implikare.com or all third-party cookies. This will disable PostHog and Google AdSense, and also log you out (removing the
refresh_tokencookie).
A dedicated cookie preferences interface is planned soon and will be added to your dashboard.
5. Cookie security
How we protect the cookies
The session cookie refresh_token is issued with the following flags:
- httpOnly — not accessible from JavaScript, protects against XSS attacks.
- Secure — transmitted only over HTTPS connections.
- SameSite=Strict — blocked on cross-site requests, protects against CSRF attacks.
